Bonding with your rabbit

Each second you put into bonding with your rabbit helps to pave a path for you both to be able to trust each other, like spending time with each other, and allowing you to create special moments. Whether that is sitting on the floor with them, just being in each other’s presence, feeding your rabbit treats, providing them with extra toys, or petting them and giving them love. The bond that will naturally form over time with your rabbit is indescribable, so try to cut out some time to spend with them each day. Your actions will pay off and be crucial steps in developing that forever bond.

Activities you can do together with your rabbit

Some rabbits love to be pet, held, cuddled, and love to travel with you on car rides to different places, and some do not. You have to test out all of these things with your rabbit and find what they do not like and what they love. If you want your rabbit to love doing an activity in particular, training them early to like this activity is key. Doing this with them will make your rabbit feel comfortable with it. When your rabbit is younger, this is a great opportunity to train them, to help them like it when they grow to be an adult rabbit. If you have an older rabbit already and you have not practiced any of these activities with them, they might be set in their way and dislike doing these activities. This can be frustrating, but it is importance to not force them into anything, because they were not brought up doing those things so naturally it is scary for them. Just because your rabbit is not at a young age anymore does not mean that you cannot get them to adjust. Practicing any of these activities with them and re-enforcing them routinely could enable them to like it more in the future. Regardless, it is important to find activities that you and your rabbit can do together, so both of you can have fun together in different environments and at home.

When you and your rabbit have time to spend together, be in the same living space and bond. This is the time when the connection and trust between the two of you is very strong. It is a beautiful relationship once you and your rabbit get to know each other. Trust the process and be there for them, as they will be there for you.
